The purpose of the child fatality review team is to conduct a thorough review of all preventable child deaths in Mesa County in order to better understand how and why children die and to implement intervention strategies when appropriate.

According to the Colorado law known as the Child Fatality Prevention Act (CRS 25-20.5-401) local review teams may be established to review the following specific types of cases.
