Influenza continues to hit Mesa County hard.
So far this flu season, 62 people have been hospitalized with influenza or influenza complications.
That number is a total of people hospitalized since flu season began this fall.
The five-year December average for flu hospitalizations in Mesa County is 4. During the 2013-2014 flu season, 72 people were hospitalized in Mesa County.
To keep yourself healthy, get a flu shot. Mesa County Health Department still has vaccine available. Appointments are available Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. – noon. Call 248-6900 for an appointment.
Also, wash your hands and sanitize surfaces often and stay home from work or school if you’re sick.
