So far this flu season, 74 people have been hospitalized with influenza and one has died.
That’s just a small representation of the number of people who have had the flu.
To protect yourself, the Centers for Disease Control recommends a flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older. Also:
- Wash your hands often.
- Sanitize surfaces often.
- Stay home when you’re sick.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
While flu and the common cold are both respiratory infections, the main difference is that flu symptoms tend to come on at once and often include a fever and body aches.
