Public Health Nurse DeeAnna Christensen administers a flu vaccination to MCHD employee Shane Chatfield.

Mesa County Health Department vaccinated 130 community members at an adult flu clinic Thursday, Oct. 22.

Flu season typically begins in October and runs through March with a majority of illnesses occurring between December and February.

It takes the body about two weeks to develop an immune response after the vaccination, so now is a great time to get vaccinated.

Call 248-6900 to make an appointment if you or your child need the flu vaccination.
