The Mesa County Health Department this afternoon issued a RED air quality advisory through Sunday at 3 p.m. for the Western Colorado valleys including the communities of Grand Junction, Delta and Montrose.

A RED advisory means a restriction is in place on non-EPA-approved wood burning stoves and fireplaces. Compliance is mandatory within the city limits of Grand Junction and Fruita and voluntary elsewhere in Mesa County and in Delta and Montrose Counties.
