About 5,400 School District 51 students walked, biked or rolled to school on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Students, parents, teachers and Mesa County Health Department officials walked from Chipeta Golf Course, 229 29 Road, to Mesa View Elementary School, 2967 B Road to celebrate Walk to School Day in the Grand Valley.
Walking to school teaches students healthy habits early in life and helps them meet a goal of at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
