TWO MESA COUNTY RESIDENTS WIN $500 CASH IN BIG SHOT GIVEAWAY
Weekly winners collect cash as jackpot builds in the Community Vaccination effort
A community vaccination effort by Mesa County Public Health (MCPH) and partner organizations, including the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, announce the first weekly winners in the Big Shot giveaway, each getting a $500 cash prize.
The randomly selected winners from entries indicating vaccination between the dates of June 1 and June 6 are Allison Jenkins and Miles G.
“I’m beyond thankful for winning the $500. I plan on using the money for much-needed repairs for my car. I want to say thank you to Mesa County for this amazing opportunity!” said Allison.
Two Mesa County residents will be selected each week through July 31 to win $500 cash just like Allison and Miles.
Just like your protection from COVID-19 after vaccination, the grand prize jackpot in the Big Shot giveaway continues to build and has increased to $51,411. The more people who are fully vaccinated, the bigger the prize.
For every fully vaccinated Mesa County resident another dollar ($1) is added to the jackpot. If Mesa County reaches our goal to vaccinate 70 percent of eligible residents, the jackpot will increase to 90-thousand dollars.
Cash incentive campaigns for vaccination have been announced in several states, including Colorado. Vaccinated individuals in Mesa County are already entered in Colorado’s Comeback Cash giveaway. Unlike that contest, administered by the Colorado Lottery with automatic enrollment – residents must enter to win the Mesa County cash.
In addition, our local effort gives Mesa County residents a chance to cash in with prizes at twice per week intervals, giving those who choose to get the COVID-19 vaccine now even better odds to win. This money will go right back to residents in our community. For Miles, this money is an early birthday present!
